Governor
Rick Perry Presents Proclamation to Mrs Baird's
On Wednesday, February 13th the San Antonio bakery had a very special
visitor: Texas Governor Rick Perry. The Governor stopped by to wish Mrs
Baird’s a big "Happy Birthday" and congratulate the brand on 100 years as a
Texas legend. Arthur Baird and his daughter Angela Huser came from the
Houston area, picking up former 41 year Baird’s employee Dean Neugent along
the way, to attend the celebration. Also in attendance was Ruth
Jones-McClendon, Texas State Representative for District 120 where the San
Antonio bakery is located.
Mrs Baird’s San Antonio associates and our
guests listened to remarks from Reid Stinnett, Senior Vice President of
Marketing, and Governor Perry and watched the Mrs Baird’s 100th anniversary
video. After a few pictures, media and local guests went on bakery tours
while the Mrs Baird’s Ultimate Grill fired up and
served lunch for all. Of course there was also delicious
cake, music and time for all to sit back remembering
fond memories and looking towards a successful 100 more
years.
Governor Perry explains how his breakfast consisted of two slices of Mrs Baird’s bread that morning.
