Serves 8
Apple filling
1 package Mrs Baird's® Wheat or White Grillin'
Thins™
1 can apple pie filling (like a Comstock)
1/2 tsp cornstarch
1/4 vanilla extract
12 slices of cheddar cheese (presliced is easiest)
Cinnamon Spread - combine the following:
4 tbsp butter or margarine softened
2 tbsp cinnamon sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large non-stick pan, combine apple pie filling,
cornstarch and vanilla. Stir over medium heat until ingredients
begin to bubble. Set aside.
In a shallow baking pan lined
with foil, place a layer of the Grillin' Thins. Brush with
cinnamon sugar spread. Place a slice of cheese on each. With
a slotted spoon scoop about 1/3 cup of pie filling and place
on top of each Grillin' Thin. Add another slice of cheddar
cheese and top with the remaining Grillin' Thins. Brush tops
generously with the cinnamon butter.
Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes. Remove
foil and bake another 5 minutes. Serve with a no-sugar-added
vanilla ice cream.
